Is VSD always cheaper to run?
Only if the load actually varies. A flat 22 kW duty can be cheaper as fixed speed. Put the load profile on the sheet.

22 kW VSD is a flow band, not a single nameplate FAD. The plant needs min/max flow at the working pressure, or it will quote a fixed-speed machine with an inverter sticker.
What belongs on the RFQ
Same sheet, matching plants
Small VSD screws are often bought for workshops that do not run a flat 22 kW load. If the RFQ only says “22 kW inverter screw”, the plant cannot size the airend turn-down or the dryer.
State working pressure, the lowest and highest FAD you expect, whether the motor is PM or induction, 50/60 Hz, and if the starter and cabinet must be tropicalised. Altitude matters more on a small package than buyers expect.
Matching rows are published oil-injected screw series from listed Chinese plants. PM VSD is a plant claim against a stated motor — we do not print IE4 on a page that the factory did not document.
